3 Day Etosha Express – Acc.

Etosha National Park is renowned as one of the best reserves in Africa, a haven for wildlife, and supports one of the most ecological and wildlife systems on the continent. At 22,270 km sq, this huge park hosts an impressive collection of game including the white rhino and endangered black rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe and numerous species of antelope as well as an impressive 340 species of birds – enough to keep any nature and wilddlife enthusiast happy.

The accommodation provided is on a twin share basis in a safari style permanent tent or twin rooms with en-suite facalities and self catering facalities. The lodges used are located within 25km of the Anderson gate on the western side of Etosha National Park. This safari does not visit Namutoni Camp at all as it is closed to non-resident visitors or on payment of a very high daily fee, which has not been included in the cost of this safari.

Sleeping bags or bath towels are not necessary, but please bring swim wear and pool towels, especially during the summer months.

  • The safari will be in specially converted vehicle with no air-conditioning

Tuesday

Windhoek – Etosha National Park (450km) (D) (Accommodated)

We depart from Chameleon Guesthouse and Backpackers at 12 noon. Wew stop briefly at Otjiwarongo then arrive at our lodge just before sunset outside the gates of the Etosha National Park.

Dinner is prepared by your guide and an early night is recommended.

Wednesday

Etosha National Park (Full Day Game Drive) (BLD) (Accommodated)

We depart from our lodge at sunrise to be the first at the gate to the park and game drive ’til mid morning when we stop for a light breakfast. We visit many waterholes and drive half across the park in our quest to find the ‘big 4′ as well as all the plains game. We arrive at Halali for a rest during the hottest part of the day. Here your guide will prepare you a delicious lunch whilst you have a dip in the pool or relax by the camp waterhole.

Continueing after lunch you will visit the mighty Etosha Pan and have the experience of walking on the pan to feel the immenseness of this 4500 sq km saltpan (seasonal).  We will then continue back to Okaukuejo calling in at some of the well known waterholes and leave the parl prior to sunset.  Twin share rooms or permanent tents with en-suite bathroom facilities.  Dinner is prepared by your guide and another early night is recommended.

Thursday

Etosha National Park – Windhoek  (450 km)  (BL)

Early morning game drive (approx. 3 hours) inside the park looking for predators as well as plains game and the many bird species found.  Your guide will give you a light lunch en-route to Windhoek via the craft markets at Okahandja.  Arrive in Windhoek late afternoon.
