3 Day Etosha Express – Acc.

Etosha National Park is renowned as one of the best reserves in Africa, a haven for wildlife, and supports one of the most ecological and wildlife systems on the continent. At 22,270 km sq, this huge park hosts an impressive collection of game including the white rhino and endangered black rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe and numerous species of antelope as well as an impressive 340 species of birds – enough to keep any nature and wilddlife enthusiast happy.

This safari starts in Windhoek and ends in Swakopmund.

Sleeping bags or bath towels are not necessary, but please bring swim wear and pool towels, especially during the summer months.

  • Departs: On Tuesday mornings from Windhoek
  • Returns: Thursday mid afternoon to Swakopmund
  • The safari will be in specially converted vehicle with no air-conditioning

Tuesday

Windhoek – Etosha National Park (450km) (LD) (Accommodated)

We depart from Windhoek at 08h30.  We stop briefly at Otjiwarongo adn enjoy a light lunch en-route before entering Etosha National Park through the Anderson Gare and we have an afternoon game drive to some of the closer waterholes looking for predators as well as zebra, giraffe, elephant and rhino.  We arrive at our lodge just before sunset outside the gates of the Etosha National Park.  Twin share permanent tents with en-suite bathroom facilities.

Dinner is prepared by your guide and an early night is recommended.

Wednesday

Etosha National Park (Full Day Game Drive) (BLD) (Accommodated)

We depart from our lodge at sunrise to be the first at the gate to the park and game drive ’til mid morning when we stop for a light breakfast. We visit many waterholes and drive half across the park in our quest to find the ‘big 4′ as well as all the plains game. We arrive at Halali for a rest during the hottest part of the day. Here your guide will prepare you a delicious lunch whilst you have a dip in the pool or relax by the camp waterhole.

Continuing after lunch you will visit the mighty Etosha Pan and have the experience of walking on the pan to feel the immenseness of this 4500 sq km saltpan (seasonal). We will then continue back to Okaukuejo calling in at some of the well known waterholes and leave the parl prior to sunset.  Accommodation is in twin share permanent tents with en-suite bathroom facilities. Dinner is prepared by your guide and another early night is recommended.

Thursday

Etosha National Park - Swakopmund (440 km) (BL)

Early morning leisurely breakfast and departure from your lodge at 08h00.  Your vehicle travels via Outjo and Omaruru with a light roadside lunch served en-route.  Arrival in Swakopmund is approximately mid afternoon to give you time to explore this quaint seaside town on foot.  You will be dropped at your accommodation of choice by your guide.
